Channel 7 Plays Along
Oh boy, the Citizens for a Responsible Whatever are excited about this one -- a guy in a dress may have walked into a ladies room. It's their dream come true. One lady saw him, if it was a him, and if she actually saw somebody. He left, there's no name, nothing.
Channel 7 is dishing out the CRW's viewpoint on this, tying it to the new antidiscrimination law.
Of course this doesn't test any controversial law, that's pure bull-oney. If it even happened, the story is that somebody that looked like a guy in a dress went into the ladies room.
If the CRW wants to stage something to "test a controversial law," they should have one of their self-proclaimed "everstraight" male members actually get arrested in a ladies room and claim they feel like a woman inside.
One lady claims she saw someone with muscles and large hands wearing a dress in a gym bathroom. Somehow this "male" person was able to walk around the gym and leave in a blue dress without anybody else noticing. Channel 7 doesn't think any of this sounds fishy.

A man dressed as a woman walked into the women's locker room at the Rio Sport and Health Club in Gaithersburg Monday, spawning concerns over a new controversial law designed to protect transgendered people.
Around 1 p.m. Monday, a man wearing a dress walked into the women's locker room surprising Mary Ann Ondray who was drying her hair. "I could see his muscles, I could see his large hands. He was wearing a blue ruffled skirt that came down to above the knee."
The male left without saying anything, but Ondray says, "I was very upset, I'm still upset. There's a lot he could've seen."
Club officials say he is a male club member, but it's still unclear why he was dressed as a woman or why he didn't use a designated family restroom.
The incident tests Montgomery County's new and still controversial law that prohibits discrimination based on gender identity. Controversial Law on Gender Identity Tested

Well, he was noticed. The club officials agree.
Problem is, TTFers keep saying this just never happens. Guess you'll still say that.
It's like how they used to say no real scientists think homosexuality is a choice or a disease. Then, by definition, they can't be a real doctor.
In the same way, this couldn't have happened because TTF has already decided it never happens.
Does anyone's head hurt?
What an absolutely AMAZING coincidence - Theresa and Her Friends claim that this thing that has never happened anywhere before is going to happen if they are not allowed to discriminate against transgender people - and lo and behold, as if on cue, this thing "happens." After all, "the club officials agree."
What's his name, Theresa? Could you possibly be more transparent?
ROFLMAO, and my head feels fine, thanks.
Maybe Johnny Garza was wearing the dress....LOL
Tom
i think its obvious to everybody that this was a CRW hoax. The question is why did channel 7 go along with it?
Andrea- not anon
Wyatt, Johnny- please, blue ruffles are so out. Don't you guys or the CRW women have any fashion sense? Actually having seen them- no, they don't
Why did TV go along with it?? Hello, when does local and national media not go along with everything and anything? Something to do a newsbite on and get viewers- serious news doesn't get watched or read by most of the public. I mean the biggest news is that American Idol returned and that Britney did something with someone somewhere.
Oh yeah, it has to be a hoax.
Otherwise, TTF wouldn't be able to say nothing like this ever happens.
It has to be a hoax.
It has to be a hoax.
It has to be...
Anon-... that was a double-negative. I recommend a re-write.
you wish
Yes, this seems way to convenient. Seems like an excellent possiblity that this was one of Theresa's friends at CRW dressing up to try and give credibility to their paranoid fantasies.
I'm fascinated by the fact that this isn't on the CRWhatever website; you'd think they would be screaming from the rooftops in 48pt font.
Do you think they realize they made a mistake, and anyone who has been even slightly paying attention will see right through this? Oops.
With all due respect, I think it is a hoax and a bad one.
I almost forgot,
How much does anyone here want to bet that this "incident" will appear as an article on the American Family Association's One News Now.
The article will of course be one-sided with quotes from CRC spokespeople and probably no one else except for maybe a "pro-family" spokesperson like Peter Sprigg.
Also, how soon will it be before the "incident" will appear as an "action alert" by groups such as the Traditional Values Coalition, Family Research Council and Americans for Truth (in name only)?
Come on folks, lay your bets down.
Come on, folks. Let's unleash a tsunami of accusation without a drop of proof!
That's how we do.
Two questions.
1) Is this Theresa’s health club?
2) Who called the media before calling the police?

Put me down for one mention of "male equipment," and two mentions in the form of "expose themselves."

American Jews and Gay Rights:
How Social Approval-Seeking Has Led to the Betrayal of Judaism and the Fueling of an Insane Movement
Sharon Kass
Why have American Jews come out so strongly in favor of gay rights? Seven factors have contributed to this phenomenon.
1. Underdog-ism. bureaucratic machinations and legal short-cutting have failed African Americans, a seemingly easier population allows Jews to feed their righteousness habit without major personal sacrifice.
2. The numbers game. Uniting against the putative Straight White Christian Male Oppressor simplifies matters rhetorically and provides company in shared misery.
3. De-fanging religion. Judaism itself, of course, which places great emphasis on family harmony and respect for the sexes’ differences as well as for their shared humanity, is reconceptualized to fit the gay rights movement.
4. The battle of the sexes. The irony in the case of the Jews is especially rich. Where once the rate of homosexuality was lower than the national average because of the model of the warm father and the strong mother, the rate is now the same due to the overapplication of androgyny and a role reversal that makes for a pathogenic family dynamic.
5. The myth of values-neutral science. Special committees, not only in mental health organizations but at the National Education Association, the American Library Association, and major newspapers, see that gay correctness guidelines are followed, and relieve the people at the top from the moral conflict necessitated by actually dealing with public dialogue on the subject.
6. Surface impressions. Jews are prominent in the arts and entertainment fields. The explosion of sanitized gay images—and drag played for laughs—in recent movies and TV shows works to de-sensitize the public against what they once regarded—and largely still do regard—as, well, queer.
7. Redefining gays, redefining Jews. The resulting new-and-improved Judaism is just right for championing the new-and-improved homosexuality…Same sex attraction still springs from suppressed rage that, in women, increases the likelihood of breast cancer.
American Jews have got to stop worrying about what certain people think and start worrying about what God thinks…a psycho-pathology is just that.
Just as Jews wouldn’t accept being redefined as vermin and exterminated, they shouldn’t redefine a disorder as a state of health.

Does anyone else here find that to be hideously anti-Semitic?
If so, is the media then giving a platform to a hate group?
Eeeeww. They actually have this posted on their website? Is this the Mormon/"Family Leader Network"/Lynn Chapman take on Jewish people? Gross.
Here's a clue for the apparently clueless: It has something to do with that "do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God" thing.
That's really something, Emproph. I note how anti-gay Christians like to talk about "judeo-Christian" values when they think its convenient for them to demonize gays, but when it comes right down to it they can't stand Jews either and want to promote the idea that Jews are going to hell. In otherwords, Jews are evil, except when they attack gays.

Marshall is mistaken in his idea that one can or should lure the attention of the religious away from gay rights issues. A great weakness of the Democratic Party is its unrealistic stances on gender and the family (and, to some degree, work). It is an uncontrovertible fact that homosexual attraction and transgender feelings are psychopathological, preventable, and treatable, developing in early childhood due to a failure of the same-sex parent (figure) to affirm the natural gender identity of the child. See www.narth.com, www.gaytostraight.org, www.peoplecanchange.com, www.pfox.org, and a Jewish web site, www.jonahweb.org. You disregard this at the Party's, and society's, peril.

Anonymous quotes Sharon Kass "It is an uncontrovertible fact that homosexual attraction and transgender feelings are psychopathological, preventable, and treatable, developing in early childhood due to a failure of the same-sex parent (figure) to affirm the natural gender identity of the child."
Anonymous, none of the major mental and physical health organizations agree with this. They all state that it is normal and healthy for a minority of the population to be gay. Mental health studies begun in the 1950's with Evelyn Hooker and on to today all show that gays are indistinguishable from straights in measures of mental health.
There are absolutely no studies or evidence to suggest that being gay is caused by family environment. The studies on whether or not a person can change their sexual orientation have shown that virtually no one has successfully done so.
In August 2006, the American Psychological Association clearly said that "ex-gay" therapy was scientifically unsound and could promote discrimination. According to the APA:
“For over three decades the consensus of the mental health community has been that homosexuality is not an illness and therefore not in need of a cure. The APA’s concern about the position’s espoused by NARTH and so-called conversion therapy is that they are not supported by the science. There is simply no sufficiently scientifically sound evidence that sexual orientation can be changed. Our further concern is that the positions espoused by NARTH and Focus on the Family create an environment in which prejudice and discrimination can flourish.”
The American Psychiatric Association says that ex-gay therapy can lead to “depression, anxiety and self-destructive behavior.” This is a major reason why the American Medical Association specifically opposes “the use of ‘reparative’ or ‘conversion’ therapy that is based upon the assumption that homosexuality per se is a mental disorder or based upon the a priori assumption that the patient should change his/her homosexual orientation.” (AMA Policy Number H-160.991).
http://www.apa.org/topics/orientation.html
Can Therapy Change Sexual Orientation?
No. Even though most homosexuals live successful, happy lives, some homosexual or bisexual people may seek to change their sexual orientation through therapy, sometimes pressured by the influence of family members or religious groups to try and do so. The reality is that homosexuality is not an illness. It does not require treatment and is not changeable.
What About Narth and So-Called "Conversion Therapies"?
Some therapists who undertake so-called conversion therapy report that they have been able to change their clients' sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Close scrutiny of these reports however show several factors that cast doubt on their claims. For example, many of the claims come from organizations with an ideological perspective which condemns homosexuality. Furthermore, their claims are poorly documented. For example, treatment outcome is not followed and reported overtime as would be the standard to test the validity of any mental health intervention.
The American Psychological Association is concerned about such therapies and their potential harm to patients. In 1997, the Association's Council of Representatives passed a resolution reaffirming psychology's opposition to homophobia in treatment and spelling out a client's right to unbiased treatment and self-determination. Any person who enters into therapy to deal with issues of sexual orientation has a right to expect that such therapy would take place in a professionally neutral environment absent of any social bias.
Is Homosexuality a Mental Illness or Emotional Problem?
No. Psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals agree that homosexuality is not an illness, mental disorder or an emotional problem. Over 35 years of objective, well-designed scientific research has shown that homosexuality, in and itself,is not associated with mental disorders or emotional or social problems. Homosexuality was once thought to be a mental illness because mental health professionals and society had biased information. In the past the studies of gay, lesbian and bisexual people involved only those in therapy, thus biasing the resulting conclusions. When researchers examined data about these people who were not in therapy, the idea that homosexuality was a mental illness was quickly found to be untrue.
In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association confirmed the importance of the new, better designed research and removed homosexuality from the official manual that lists mental and emotional disorders. Two years later, the American Psychological Association passed a resolution supporting the removal. For more than 25 years, both associations have urged all mental health professionals to help dispel the stigma of mental illness that some people still associate with homosexual orientation.
"It is an uncontrovertible fact that homosexual attraction and transgender feelings are psychopathological, preventable, and treatable, developing in early childhood due to a failure of the same-sex parent (figure) to affirm the natural gender identity of the child."
This is an opinion so fringe, so utterly discredited, and so laughable, that I pity you. I really do. I don't think you have any idea how out of touch you are with reality.
Serious question, "anon": Do you also think that it's "incontrovertible fact" that the existence of climate change is debatable? Do you also believe that there is no evolutionary link between contemporary humans and other higher order primates?
The one who is out of touch with reality is Sharon Kass. I was merely pointing out who she is so everybody can see why CRW would publish something she wrote.
Whoops, so sorry. I thought you were one of her "anons."

Thanks Anon, I was unaware of that.

The fact that she's a Jewish activist is supposed to make it ok for them to post that stuff. That way they can claim that they're not anti-Semitic because it's a Jewish person saying it.
They use the same trick with the gay issues. They find a gay figure who agrees with them on something and then they say "see, we're not prejudiced, even gay people agree with us."
Often times the gay figure is on the fringe, or rarely if ever speaks for the gay community at large - or the quote is taken out of context.
Here we go BT, from World Net Daily:
Man uses women's facility at members-only health club
They also repeat this lie:
"It is ridiculous to place the desires of persons suffering from gender identity disorder in front of the constitutional rights and safety of 99 percent of the residents in Montgomery County."
As though everyone in Montgomery County who is not transgendered is allied with them and their hateful and incendiary supremacist bigotry.
In addition to the WND article, Autumn Sandeen posted a link (on Equality Loudoun) to the Examiner, with a few more details on the matter.
Transgender bill facing new round of opposition
A woman who was in a locker room at Rio Sport and Health in Gaithersburg said a man dressed in heavy female makeup and a blue skirt entered the women’s locker room, frightening patrons who were in various states of undress. The incident was publicized by the group, Citizens for a Responsible Government, which protested Trachtenberg’s bill.
Kelly Nicholson, general manager for the gym, said the person exited the locker room quickly and the gym could not verify that the incident had occurred. The offender has not been identified
[Michelle] Turner said her group had nothing to do with it.
"Absolutely not. No," Turner said. "We don’t know who this individual is other than what Rio has had to say about it."
--
So CRG is 7500 signatures short of the 12,500 needed by Feb. 4th, claims they did not instigate the stunt, and that they only know what the health club has said -- that they don’t know who the person is, and "could not verify that the incident had occurred" -- yet somehow CRG got wind of it and felt lead to call the news.
Nope, that doesn’t stink to high heavens.
